Update--Full Quote

I noted earlier that I would like to see the whole quote from Edward, Faith Healers, remarks about stem cells. Here it is, courtesty of Jay Ambrose:
Well, if we can do the work that we can do in this country, the work that we will do when John Kerry is president, people like Christopher Reeve are going to walk, get up out of that wheelchair and walk again.

The Drudge quote started at "when John Kerry..." Does this mitigate Edwards' formerly outrageously demogagic remarks? Decide for yourself, but I think it does because the full quote makes clear that people are going to walk again when we can do the work on stem cells. This is still a promise which could end up not panning out -- basically just like any other promise that a politician might make. It is still somewhat misleading and slightly distasteful, but nevertheless falls within the boundaries of acceptable political discourse.

Unfortunately, the full quote does nothing to expiate Edwards guilt over his macabre exploitation of Reeve within days of his death.
