Vote set to take place two days ago

The Collegian, ever on top of things, ran a story in its Campus Chronicles ("Headlines From the Nation's Universities") section on Thursday about the pending draft legislation . Except for one thing. The legislation was voted on Tuesday.

And from the NYT story, check out this hilarious paragraph:
Democrats were outraged at the tactic [bringing the legislation up for an immediate vote], charging Republicans with a cynical political ploy on a matter that merited more thoughtful hearings and debate. The Democrats originally introduced the measure early last year as a way to protest the war, even before it began, and to spotlight how low- and middle-income Americans shoulder much of the burden of serving in the military.

So the dems are mad at the "cynical political ploy" of having voting on their own measure instead of using it as a scare tactic. And, of course, it was not a "cynical political ploy" "introduc[ing] the measure early last year as a way to protest the war, even before it began"?
