Freedom of speech vs. Religious Respect

Glenn Reynolds, aka Instapundit, weighs in on the controversy over the Muhammed-caricature cartoons (video).

CNN's excuse for not airing the cartoons, is that they don't want to add fuel to the fire. Then why publish the Abu Ghraib photos? There very discriminate on what fires they fuel--the raging flame of world-wide anti-Americanism, for example, hey, that's perfect for makin' S'mores!

Really Grant, the collegian has a deficit of writing talent lately.

Yeah, I don't write for the paper anymore.

I figured, hey, I could either be columnist and write for the Collegian, or become a consumer and make the Collegian write for me.

See, Marx had it all wrong. Capitalists don't enslave and exploit the working masses. Capitalists are beholden to the masses, i.e. customers. Their every move is dictated by what the consumer wants. As a consumer, I have total power over the Collegian. If I enjoy it, I deign to give it some of my reading time. If not, I blot it from my consciousness. I am master. The Collegian must mold itself to my demands.

Wait...what was the question again? Haircut? Why, yes, and thanks for noticing!

...and I believe the post itself answers any question about my helping to remedy said "deficit of writing" down at the Collegian.

I mean, geez man, what's that comma doing stranded in the middle of the sentence? Do I really mean for the reader to pause *there*? Why? Have I been hufffing canned air?

And in the fourth sentence, I use "there" instead of "they're." Well, in fairness to me, there's like forty forms of "there, their, they're, thar, etc," but still.

Still.

And, Lisa, how dare you accuse me of anonymity. MY IDENTITY IS SECURE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

It's been at least a week since I last faked my identity for purposes of self-aggrandizement.
